Harry Gration, a former BBC Look North presenter, will be remembered during a service at York Minster
The service is scheduled for August 1 – Yorkshire Day – at 11:30 BST.
The cortège will proceed down Leeman Road, across the Lendal Bridge, and then proceed to Duncombe Place and the cathedral
Tim Davie, the director-general of the BBC, referred to Mr. Gration as "an outstanding broadcaster" and "one of their own" before his passing on June 24 at the age of 71
The event is open to the public, but a BBC spokesperson predicted that it will be "exceptionally well attended."
The BBC hired Mr. Gration in 1978, and Look North hired him in 1982. In 2020, he gave his last performance
He received two Royal Television Society (RTS) prizes for sports documentaries over his career, and he also twice won the RTS Best Presenter award
