T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have at least one colleague who believes they can make a TV comeback.
“I think they should work together,” Billy Bush told TMZ Thursday. “I think they do a great job.”
The “Extra” host, 51, added that he thinks the couple could even “do a podcast together” and then “another show or whatever,” saying, “They’ve got something that works.”
ABC suspended the “GMA3” co-anchors in December 2022, shortly after their off-screen relationship became public.
The scandalous affair reportedly began when the pair were training for a half-marathon last March. At the time, both were married — Robach, 50, to “Melrose Place” alum Andrew Shue, and Holmes, 45, to attorney Marilee Fiebig. The journalists have since left their respective spouses.
A workplace review spanned more than a month before the network ultimately decided to oust the amorous duo.
Since then, Holmes and Robach have continued to flaunt their romance.
On a recent jaunt to Mexico, Holmes was snapped cheekily grabbing Robach’s bottom, and they were also photographed locking lips on the same vacation.
Bush also chided public interest in the couple’s private lives, noting that “people love to wade into other people’s clubhouses.”
Bush notably has a unique insight into workplace difficulties and firings, as he has experienced his own career-threatening scandal.
In 2016, a vulgar video leaked of the former “Access Hollywood” host and then-presidential candidate Donald Trump crudely bantering about women, with the future commander-in-chief, now 76, infamously boasting of “grabbing” women “by the p–sy.”
Bush was quickly fired from his job as a co-host on the “Today” show after the embarrassing video surfaced, but he returned to work in 2019 when “Extra” hired him.
Bush said he believes Holmes and Robach can be employed again, too, because “everyone should find their way back.”
The Trump video was not the only time Bush has been caught on a hot mic.
Last year, audio leaked of him making an inappropriate joke about Kendall Jenner revolving around erections.
When asked whether he is more careful now, Bush admitted he has no intention of watching what he says.
“I’m going to be me and do what I do,” he told TMZ, “and if someone’s going to try and leak it, then they’re the loser.”
