Zaya Wade was the belle of the ball at her winter formal.
Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s 15-year-old daughter glammed up for the dance in a dazzling white sequined Rodarte gown adorned with a rosette and paired with a matching tulle bolero, which she accessorized with a sparkling choker, softly curled hair and a glossy lip.
“Supporting each other for life’s big moments is key,” the teen’s parents captioned photos of Zaya prepping for her big night on Instagram Sunday.
“All the nerves, all the anxiety, all the fear… With loved ones by your side, no matter the challenge, we 10 toes down. Always.”

In one of the snaps, the couple wear sweats while proudly posing with Zaya and her sister Kaavia, 4; in a video clip included in the post, the parents look on as their elder daughter’s stylist snaps photos of her glittering gown.
Famous friends of the family’s — including Kehlani, Lilly Singh and Jeannie Mai — flocked to the comments section to praise the Tiffany & Co. campaign star‘s look.
“Gorgeous,” gushed La La Anthony, while Lena Waithe wrote, “Beautiful.”

Zaya came out as transgender in 2020, with dad Dwyane describing himself and his wife as “proud parents of a child in the LGBTQ+ community” and “proud allies” at the time.
They’ve kept up that support ever since, coordinating with Zaya in custom suits (in the colors of the genderqueer flag, no less) for her red carpet debut later in 2020; the former basketball pro also designed a special Pride sneaker in his daughter’s honor.
And when Dwyane’s ex-wife (and Zaya’s biological mother) Siohvaughn Funches tried to block her legal name and gender change in 2022, the athlete fought back, advocating in a court filing for his daughter’s right to “live more comfortably and honestly in all aspects of her life.”
“Zaya should not be forced to put her life on hold while she waits for Siohvaughn to acknowledge and accept her truth,” the filing concluded.
